Why Choose an Electric Hospital Bed?

A hospital bed is designed to provide a stable, safe, and comfortable environment for a person to rest, heal, recover, and receive care at home. Different from the traditional beds found in most homes, a hospital bed offers greater security and positional versatility, allowing the head and foot sections to be raised or lowered and the height of the bed to be adjusted. A fully electric bed offers patients a range of advantages from making it easier to get in and out of bed, to ensuring that those who are bed ridden can change position frequently to avoid bedsores. Caregivers can adjust the height of an electric bed to their optimal working level, significantly reducing strain. And the increased independence an electric bed affords to patients will reduce the caregiver’s workload.

There are considerable advantages to a homecare hospital bed:

  • by changing position without manual involvement, the risk of injury to the carer is eliminated, and the independence and dignity of the user are maintained.
  • the position of the user can be easily changes reducing bedsore risk.
  • it may make it possible for someone to get out of bed unaided, if they can raise themselves into a sitting position first.
  • respiratory and circulatory difficulties can be eased.
  • it makes using a hoist easier.
  • height adjustment ensures the carer can work at a safe height when giving treatments and makes it easier for the patient to get in and out of the bed.
